Monty

Star, Monty and Marley
Star - Monty - Marley

Hi Kim,

Monty grew from 6 pounds 5 ounces to 6 pounds 15 ounces over a nine-day period – or about a 10% weight gain in a little over a week. God knows what he is now. He’s just about the size of Molly, our 16-year-old semi-Siamese, who weighs around 8 pounds 5 ounces. Monty’s torso is slim but not skinny and very muscular. Lately his legs and tail have been growing rapidly. His energy and pleasant disposition are just remarkable.

Monty and Marley have an amazing relationship. They certainly act like the brothers they are, because you seldom see them very far away from each other. At the moment they’ve curled up together on the dining room table for a nap.

Thought you’d enjoy a photo of Marley, Monty and Star together on the bed this afternoon. The perspective is deceptive, because Star is a 70-pound greyhound, but Marley is nevertheless truly impressive when he stretches full length.

Elliott and Friend
Elliot and Friend

Hey Kim!! Elliot is wonderful. He is a little monster full of love for everyone and everything. He is so talkative he keeps me up at night sometimes! I love him dearly and he is a wonderful companion. He and my other cat, Akerfeldt, get along like an old married couple. Here's a picture of him from around his 1 year birthday. Take care. God Bless.

I'm enclosing some pictures so you can see how beautiful my boys are. These guys are so entertaining.  I am so happy I have two together. Pywacket (the brown) is a real lover. He is also the jealous one. If I am giving Hemingway attention he gets right in the middle of it. Hemingway is not a kisser. He likes attention only when he wants it (a true cat). They get along great. As they are getting older they are starting to do things independent of each other. The first couple months you could not separate them. I would not trade them for anything. I will keep you updated on their progress and send pictures.

Now that she is settled in, I thought you might like to see some pictures of Jessie and Nellie. The girls are cousins and have almost identical head markings. It's hard to tell who you're looking at when one of them zips by. Jessie's official name on her papers is Sarah Jessica Ladygirl. Jessie and Nellie love to run through the house. When you are in the basement, they sound like thunder. Craig loves it when Jessie comes in and has a nap with him. Anyway, enough of the proud cat parent...here are the girls.

May 2007 - Cathy

Dear Kim,
I hope you and Bob are doing well. I thought you would like some pictures of Nellie for your Wall of Fame. She's quite a big girl and she lets me comb her for snarls and clip her nails!  I caught her in one of her morning perches. The other picture is a beauty shot -- looking so innocent. Take care and enjoy the spring weather. Pet all your cat kids for me.

Charlie

Kim, you are going to be sorry you sold Benny because he is the most beautiful cat we have ever had. He now weights 12 pounds and his birthday is February 20, 2007. Here are pictures of Charlie and Benny so you can put them on your website and show people what beautiful cats you have. Marty and I have always felt close to the both of you from day one. God bless both of you lovely people and the best of health for the year.

Jeff and I really enjoyed our time at home this weekend bonding with our kitty, whom we've named Lucy. I have gone from being a decidedly dog person to a person who loves her cat. I love my Lucy! She sang to us all the way home. She sat in the front of the carries to be close to us. When we got home, she came right out and was interested in exploring the apartment. She has such a sweet personality. She likes to be wherever people are. We selected a few cat friendly friends to come over and meet her and she was interested in everyone and being with the group.

Sprawled on top of the laptop in the front room. We had the stand tilted at a moderate angle, he kept sliding off!  Look at his furnishings!

He's growing by leaps and bounds!

First I have to ask - is it too late to change Gibson's official name? We've been reading "Marley and Me," a hilarious book about the antics of a dog with - to say the least - an outgoing personality. Well, that's Gibson to a T. He's the first cat we ever named before seeing how he behaves in our house. Absolutely nothing frightens him. He sleeps wherever he pleases. He pounces on all the other cats, except one. We have Star and a visiting greyhound this week. When they're eating, his nose is in their food bowl at the same time!

In  mid-July, at four months of age, he weighted 6 1/2 pounds - more than our old, blind Maggie. He goes in for a booster shot on Tuesday and I can't wait to see what he weighs then. His tail has grown tremendously - it's bushy and now fits the Maine Coon standard by reaching all the way to his shoulder blades. He has a wonderful disposition - never unsheathes his claws. So much fur on his pad that I have to work very carefully when trimming his claws every couple weeks. All in all, he is an extraordinary young fellow.

Best Regards

I wanted to let you know that Rocky (Whister) is doing really well. We adore him! He has really added joy to the home of two empty nesters. He is just as sweet as can be - bright, playful, and full of fun. He has been easy to train, and he is very sociable. He is certainly growing quickly (why do they have to grow so fast??) but he has that really cute kitten face. I just wanted  you to know that he is doing well, is healthy, and happy.  Thank you for allowing us to adopt him.  Take care.  January 2007 ~ Sandy

Thought I would bring you up to date on the boys.  They are doing really great. It took three days for them to make friends. Since that time, each day gets more interesting. They are running through the house taking turns chasing each other. We do have to remind Strider that he has about 15 pounds on Théoden and he needs to be a little gentler - but then when his back is turned, Théoden is pouncing on his head. Of course, they both want to sleep on the top level of the cat stand - and it is the smallest area. We are spending a lot of time laughing at their antics.

You were right: we needed two Maine Coon Cats. Both Strider and Théoden are wonderful. Thank you very much!!!  Here are some pictures for you.

- Cheri - December, 2005

Well, we are all moved in to our new house and Strider has adapted very well. In the old house, he did not mind closed doors, now the kids must sleep with their bedroom doors cracked so Strider can come and go. There is nowhere in the house that has not been claimed as Strider's lounging place, running place, or anything else he chooses. There is definitely a theme going on here. I think the house is really Strider's house and he allows  us to stay here.  I have enclosed some new shots of Strider.  January 2007 ~ Cheri

I can't say enough about the kittens you raise.  Nate and Laney are so sweet and loving, and everyday they grow more beautiful.  I'll make an effort to show Nate next month and possibly Laney if she's fully recovered from spaying.  Here is a picture of Nate and Laney.  Take care... will be in touch soon.

Hi Kim, Just a note to let you know that Tigger is doing great! I can't believe that he will be five years old next month! He currently has three other buddies running around the house with him, and they all get along great! Tigger being here the longest and being the oldest is definitely the boss cat, but he rules with a fair hand! The youngest cat just turned one and especially has taken a liking to him. He follows him around like his shadow. Tigger weighs 20 lbs. and has not had any problems what so ever, and is still my constant sleeping companion!  I couldn't be happier with him!  THANX!!!

Marissa is doing great. We have nicknamed her Merry Meow. When she gets started singing, she makes me laugh every time. I've never seen a singing cat before her. She loves sitting in the windows and watching all the birds and squirrels. Right now we have had the air conditioner on so she will meow at the window. She and Timber are starting to play together. I think Timber was slightly intimidated by her. She likes sitting on top of the TV and she has taken over the desk at the top of the stairs. They are up at the crack of dawn with me every morning.

We really enjoy both of the cats immensely. Maine Coons are the only type of cat we will have now. They are so much more personable than a regular cat. We just had a family party so all the close family got to see them. Everyone made comments on the size of Timber's tail and how beautiful both of them are. I always talk about the cats and they are my second son and daughter. I love them both greatly.  Some pictures are enclosed.

Riley is doing fine and is growing either a grand lady or a rocket cat!  She hasn't quite decided yet. Her favorite pastime is racing up and down the hallways with a feather toy in her mouth. She has grown so much, but  at this point her tail sometimes appears bigger than her body.  And, she still has those beautiful honey colored eyes!  She's a sweetheart and gets along well with our two older cats - one is her best friend while the other at least tolerates it when she pounces on his head.  I'm attaching a few photos for you to see.

Just wanted to drop a quick line and provide some updated pictures.  Strider is d
oing great and has adapted very well.  He now owns the house.  He is providing the whole family a whole lot of joy.  He is playing fetch and loves to walk around on his leash, not to mention the running, jumping and taking over everything.  He is also very talkative - and keep us informed of all things going on.

Thank you Kim, we are so happy with Strider and again he seems happy with us!  Here are some pictures of Strider. (Strider is Lakota's brother and Apache's son.)

October, 2004 ~ Cheri-

Dear Kim,
Apache and Lakota are very content (although Alex is not totally used to sharing us again) and we love them dearly! We bought a new (higher) cat condo and Alex is being worn down by Lakota's friendly nature... a lot of sniffing going on and sharing of space little by little.  Thank you again for our sweet and loving boys!

Hello Kim,
What a hoot of a kitten.  We are absolutely loving Zaid.  He is adjusting beautifully and did not bat an eye while being introduced to our 90-pound shepherd.  He has fabulous confidence.  However, our Kit is not too happy about his appearance.  I suspect it will take about a week before Kit realizes it will be great fun to play and explore together.  Thank you again for fulfilling our hearts with such a beauty.  I will always own Maine Coons!

Hi Kim - Just wanted you to know that Willow is so perfect and as sweet as can be. Even when her "little" brother is driving her crazy.  They are in that romping stage!  I love it.  She did exactly as you had predicted and has become the mentor and mother.  I have attached some pictures.

Enjoy!  - Liz -

Dear Kim,

My husband and I are so glad to have found you and your wonderful Maine Coon cats! Since Allana joined our family in September of this year [2002], she has been such a joy. She is beautiful and we are so glad to have her. Thanks so much!

Peggy - Lemont, Illinois

Sweet Allana sends you her picture

I wanted to let you know that Zachery is doing wonderful and to thank you for giving him such an excellent start in life.  As you are aware, I have a female cat about 6 months older than Zachery that I bought from a woman who assured me that her kittens were "hand-raised".  Her idea of "hand raising" was to have the kittens in a room connected to her home and feeding, watering and changing  litter.  The difference between the social skills of Zorrella and Zach are amazing.  When I brought Zach home, rather than slinking around scared he started to investigate everything, is out-going and cuddly (without giving up his "cat" identity).  I had read in the cat books that the proper way to introduce a new cat is to keep it in a different room for a week. Well let me tell you, there was no need for that kind of stress as he and Zorrella immediately liked each other.

Zachery has such a wonderful personality that everyone who comes to visit falls immediately in love with him.  Deciding to get Zachery has been one of the better moves I have made in my life.  Thank you again.

More recent note:  7/20/02

Dear Kim - Just a short note to touch base since it has been about two years since Zach came into my life and let me tell you he has matured into a wonderful sweet dispositioned cat.  I purchased two 6-foot cat trees for climbing and sleeping and he and Zorrella love chasing each other up one and down the other.  He will lay on the top of the tree and just watch me to make sure that he doesn't miss any opportunity to "help" me.  I don't need an alarm clock, as Zach is food motivated, and, therefore, beats the alarm clock in waking me up.  He is such a love and joy.

Hope that everything is fine with you and that more people have found out what wonderful, healthy and loving kittens you raise.

- Susan -
